When is a piece finished? or Am I any Good?

Over the years I’ve been asked more often than I can even remember by an artisan if their work was good — To me, one way to know that a piece is good, is to look at what YOU created and judge yourself. Does it look good to you? Does it feel finished?

I think really that is the key. Does it seem finished or does it need just a little more work, a little more time to get it just right to your eye.

Worry less about what someone else thinks and concentrate on what you think.   You’ll know when you have a winner.     Remember, there will ALWAYS be folks out there that don’t like your work or your style, but also remember there will be many more that do.    So just go out there and create.
